Richard J. Lenz

Chairman

Richard is founder, president, and CEO of Lenz, Inc., an integrated marketing agency that uses advertising, public relations, graphic design, and web-based technology to help clients achieve their goals.

His most recent accomplishments include launching one of the most celebrated festivals in the country; producing a popular health care radio show; rebranding a major hospital system; designing and installing a 2,000-square foot museum exhibit; steering a $20 million fund raising campaign; and developing a website that helped improve cancer care across the country. He serves on multiple boards and has won industry awards for his graphic design, ad campaigns, writing, and photography, and is author of several popular non-fiction books.

Richard and his company have supported Amplify since our inception, and we are very grateful for all he does to further our mission.

Scott D. Miller, MD

Scott D. Miller, MD

Scott D. Miller, MD is a highly regarded surgeon and health advocate in Atlanta’s medical community. As a “Top Doc” and an innovator in the field of urology and robotic surgery, Dr. Miller holds a lot of firsts: He performed Georgia’s first laparoscopic kidney removal, conducted the first prostate removal using a robotic surgery system in the state, and developed a new surgical technique for preserving nerve function after prostate removal. Dr. Miller also is the founder and president of ProstAware, an organization dedicated to educating the Atlanta community about prostate health, and is a live host of WSB-AM’s The Weekly Check-Up, heard Sunday afternoons in Atlanta.

In his free time, among other interests, Dr. Miller pursues his love of music as an accomplished guitarist, composer, and performer, and brings his interests and business skills to Amplify My Community.

James Ponsoldt

James Ponsoldt

James is a nationally acclaimed film director, living in Los Angeles. His recent work includes The End of the Tour, The Spectacular Now, and Smashed. He has also directed multiple episodes of the Netflix smash hit, Master of None, starring Aziz Ansar. Jamie grew up in Athens, Georgia and was among Amplify’s Founding Board Members.

Willie "Chuck" Shivers

Willie "Chuck" Shivers

Willie "Chuck" Shivers is the tour manager for the Grammy Award-winning gospel group, The Blind Boys of Alabama.

Chuck is a native of Atlanta and a graduate of Clark Atlanta University with a degree in Music Education and graduate work at Georgia State. He was an educator in the Atlanta Public School system for 12 years before embarking on his musical journey which led him to his current position with the Blind Boys of Alabama in 2004.

In his off time Chuck owns and operates Quality Sound Studio, and has produced artists such as Big Gip with Goodie Mob, Angie Stone, Young Joc, and Bobby Brown. On and off the road, Willie scouts talent, both conventional and non-conventional, for local and national venues and events. Chuck is known in the community as a strong family man and a good friend.
